Since its establishment in 2021, GR Civils has successfully delivered projects across multiple municipalities and provinces.
The business is proudly owner-managed by Frik van Niekerk, a professional civil engineer since 1996 (over 25 years of experience at time of writing). Frik is also a registered member of The South African Institution of Civil Engineering.
Frik obtained a Bsc degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Pretoria in 1991, followed by an Honours degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Pretoria in 1993.
In 1992 Frik started out as Civil Engineer in training specifically on roads and bridges and stormwater design. He then worked as resident engineer on various projects including water purification plants, reservoirs and pipeline projects.
He has also worked as executive manager of a construction company and as assistant design engineer on various other water related projects.
More recently, Frik has worked as civil engineering contractor specializing in roads and concrete work, and in civil engineering design and project management.
Frik personally oversees the planning, engineering and quality control on all projects.
